New series from CHIRON and STAMA
CHIRON celebrated a world premiere with the new 25 series at EMO in Hanover. Visitors to the trade fair were able to experience the highlights of the two-spindle DZ 25 P five axis machine during a live demonstration in the interactive showroom. The series sets new standards in highly productive machining of complex, large-volume structural components in the automotive and aerospace industries. "The new FZ/DZ 25 series from CHIRON combines productivity, precision and flexibility at a previously unknown level. With a spindle distance of 800 millimeters, it is predestined for simultaneous 5-axis machining of chassis and structural components made of aluminum for e-mobility," said Bernd Hilgarth, Sales Director at CHIRON.
Visitors to the trade fair were impressed by the CHIRON FZ 16 S five axis in combination with the VariocellPallet automation solution. The machining solution demonstrated autonomous production of seven different components. STAMA presented the MT 733 one plus, a new model in the MT 733 series which was launched on the market in September 2018. Its strength is automated complete 6-side machining of complex components and hard to machine materials. Interested parties were able to appraise the highly dynamic and highly precise milling/turning and drilling operations during a live demonstration.
Customized service solutions
The CHIRON Group presented the new service concept 'LifetimeSolutions‘ for the first time. Complete individual service packages are geared towards higher productivity, maximum machine availability and optimized overall equipment effectiveness with an optimum price-performance ratio for customers. Specific customer requirements throughout the lifetime of machines and equipment form the framework for the individual services. The new smart services are oriented towards the phases in the machine's lifecycle. These services are based on the CHIRON Group's SmartLine software solutions, which identify specific potential for improvement during production and help to increase overall performance.
Efficient live protection and predictable maintenance
The CHIRON Group demonstrated paths to networked production with RemoteLine, a cloud-based remote diagnostic system, on the open IoT platform Mindsphere. RemoteLine ensures higher productivity, reliability and availability of the entire machine park.
The continuous digital process chain from the ProcessLine and ProtectLine software systems showed how machining centers are reliably protected against machine crashes by a digital twin both during preparatory activities and during ongoing operation. Serious, cost-intensive damage and production stoppages can therefore be reliably prevented. Using the ConditionLine software, which detects atypical operating behavior of a machining center, the CHIRON Group demonstrated by means of live data how maintenance and repairs can be purposefully planned.
Coping with the challenge of digitalization
The machine tool industry faced up to the challenge of digitalization at EMO by presenting umati, which is short for universal machine tool interface. As a key team member of the industry initiative started by the Association of German Machine Tool Manufacturers in 2017, CHIRON presented a DZ 16 W five axis machine equipped with an umati interface on its stand to show how networked production functions in practice. Modern software solutions were used here to determine, analyze and visualize own and outside machine information live.
